"Do not try to satisfy your vanity by teaching a great many things. Awaken people's curiosity. It is enough to open minds, do not overload them. Put there just a spark. If there is some good inflammable stuff, it will catch fire."
First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! The team here at ACE, (all 3 of us haha) would like to thank you all deeply for your continued support and encouragment throughout 2011, without you, none of this would
have been possible. These children have been given an opportunity and are really getting to live a life that until a few months ago was an imposibility for them, and it's all because of you, so from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you:) At the end of 2011 the children all recieved their Christmas package, which was a huge success! See the photos on our FACEBOOK page or in our gallery. 2012 looks to be a fantastic year, with 5 new children sponsored already and it's only the 4th of January! On that note, we have just picked up another family who are in desperate need of sponsorships, 6 young children so put those feelers out there and lets raise the support for these kids. Spread the word in your community for more sponsorships and donations, remember, every little bit counts, and you are all doing a brilliant job!
Since last year's event turned out to be such a success, later on this year we are looking to have another ACE Parents and Children event, around June. Also in June Vinnie and Mary will be heading to Arusha (3rd time for Mary, 1st for Vinnie!) to check up on everything, give Vinnie a chance to meet all the kids, parents and teachers in person, and get you all a good update on what's been happening! We'll be looking to source some help on the ground from volunteers and the local community, so everybody can be involved. We'll also be starting up a penpal system between sponsors and children, so start writing those letters and taking those pictures! Blandina is doing an absolutely fantastic job of holding the fort (as usual – what an incredible woman!) and we all have so much to thank her for, Blandina – you are a godsend! That's all for now folks, looking forward to the next update when the kids all head back to school. Stay tuned:) Much love, ACE TEAM. xxx
